Patna University publishes 14 exam results in two days.

Patna University (PU) has created a record of sorts by publishing the examination results of as many as 14 professional courses in two days. The PU examination department is all set to publish the examination results of 12 more courses in the next two days. PU controller of examinations Surendra Snigdh told TOI the results of about 25 self-financing courses were published before the commencement of the employees' strike. The university is set to publish all the pending results of 2008 examinations by August 23. The results of BCom (Part I) honours examinations were published on Thursday while the BSc (Part I) results have already been published and those of BA (Part I) examinations are likely to be published within the next two to three days. Snigdh said 90% results of the 2008 examinations have been published by the university so far. The results of BSc engineering examinations have been published while those of LLB examination are in the process of being published. PU has decided to hold entrance test for admission to the BEdcourse on September 28. Application forms would be made available from August 20 at Patna Training College and Women's Training College. The pre-PhD registration test would be held after Durga Puja vacation, Snigdh added. PU has prepared the seniority list of teachers in all the subjects and four senior most teachers of each subject would be posted in the post-graduate department. This practice has been adopted to facilitate the process of rotational headship. Two more post-graduate departments of PU have got new heads under this scheme. While M A Kazmi has joined as the head of Arabic department in place of S Zoha, Radha Mohan Singh has joined as the new head of English department in place of S M Ashok. Meanwhile, PU chemistry teacher Radha Kant Prasad has been elected Fellow of the Institution of Chemists (India), according to a communication received from the Kolkata office.
