Critically acclaimed director Sekhar Kammula is getting ready to direct a film in hindi. After the continous success of Anand, Godavari and Happy Days, Sekar Kammula wants to try is luck in Bollywood.Sekar Kammula is right now producing a telugu movie titled Avakaya Biryani in the direction of Anish Kuruvilla. The hindi movie will go on floors once Avakaya Biryani releases in theaters.Looks like Sekhar Kammula is following the foot steps of Ram Gopal Verma who also started his career in telugu cinema and shifted his base to Bollywood and became one of the top notch directors there.

Music launch of Manoj Manchu’s latest film ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa?’ was launched at a function organized in Prasad Labs preview theater on the night of 29 August. Bala Krishna, Mohan Babu, K Raghavendra Rao, YVS Chowdary, Keeravani, A Kodandarami Reddy, Ashok (Sony BMG) and Sanjay Reddy (Zee Telugu) were the guests. Manoj Manchu, Sneha Ullal, Ajay Sastri, Sunil, Tanikella Bharani, cinematographer Sunil K Reddy, editor Naveen, executive producer Ashok Raju and producer Lakshmi Manchu attended the function from the unit.Bala Krishna and K Raghavendra Rao jointly released the music album (both audiocassette and audio CD) in Bollywood style. A WORM TYPE VIRUSES IS FOUND ON LAPTOP COMPUTERS

Computer virus goes into orbit
NASA confirmed that a computer virus sneaked aboard the International Space Station only to be tossed into quarantine on July 25 by security software. A "worm type" virus was found on laptop computers that astronauts use to send and receive email from the station by relaying messages through a mission control center in Texas, according to NASA spokesman Kelly Humphries on Wednesday. The virus is reported to be malicious software that logs keystrokes in order to steal passwords or other sensitive data by sending the information to hackers via the Internet. The laptop computers are not linked to any of the space station's control systems or the Internet. "The bottom line is it is a nuisance for us," Humphries said. "The crew is working with teams on the ground to eradicate the virus and look for actions to prevent that from happening in the future." The virus had no adverse effect on space station operations, according to Humphries. The space station orbits Earth once every 90 minutes at an altitude of about 350 kilometers. NASA is reportedly looking into whether the virus got into the computers by hiding in a memory drive used to store music, video or other digital files. Humphries said this is not the first computer virus stowaway on the Space Station. "This is not a frequent occurrence but it has happened before," Humphries said.

Jayam Ravi is optimistic of ‘Dhaam Dhoom's’ fortune at the box office. The movie releasing this week-end, is loaded with action.
'We began ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ with great optimism. Cinematographer-director Jeeva led us. Unfortunately his untimely death during the shooting shocked every one of us. There were doubts whether the movie would ever be completed'.
However Jeeva's associate Manikandan stepped in and the movie is finally over.
” ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ is our tribute to Jeeva”, says Jayam Ravi.
Harris Jeyaraj's catchy musical score and the excellent performance from co-stars including Lakshmi Rai, Kangana Ranaut and Jayaram are the major highlights of the film, he adds.
MOVIE REVIEW:-
The best thing about Jeeva’s last project is the quirky style of narration. What, not the colours and cinematography, you exclaim?
Jeeva’s screenplay and sense of freshness in colour and look has never been in doubt and in Dhaam Dhoom too, he doesn’t disappoint. Coorg looks lush and moist, Moscow looks vast and spectacular and every single actor looks fabulous, from the “de-glamourised” Lakshmi Rai and Kangna Ranaut to the very hunky Ravi.
Thus we talk of the difference in this movie compared to his others, like Unnale Unnale and Ullam Ketkume.
The difference is the pace of narration and the simple fact that unlike his other projects, this is an action-thriller with a generous peppering of comedy and seductive romance. The entire movie is a succession of inter-cuts between the present incidents in Gautham’s (Ravi) life and his recent past.Gautham Subramaniam is quite a dreamboat. He is handsome, charming, deliciously mischievous and the darling son of his family. AND: He is a doctor, the son of a doctor father and a very good one at that. He has been invited to represent India at a one-week doctors’ seminar in Russia and is all set to fly out for that. As he goes about the bustle of his departure, we see glimpses of his ladylove, Shenba, whom he will marry in 2 weeks, on his return to Indian. Shenba is from the same village as his sister and that’s how they met.
The journey to Moscow is uneventful and he finally waits in line to pass through immigration, where he meets Anna (Maria) – just a casual run-in of 2 people waiting in line. She drops her jacket by mistake and walks away and he has no choice, as he is hurried through a special exit for the visiting team, but to take it with him.

The drive to his hotel is beautiful and he takes in the vastness of Moscow, astounded by the sheer size of the roads and buildings. The view from his hotel view is breathtaking and finally, it sinks into him happily, that he is here in beautiful Russia. The only problem, though, is that hardly anyone speaks even a single word of English – it’s Russian all the way!
Sometime during his days there, Anna happens to walk by him in his hotel and he grabs the opportunity to return her jacket to her. A rapport is established but they soon part ways. The doctors’ conference goes well and adding icing to the cake, he is applauded for his invaluable contribution during the function and the team goes out to celebrate. Gautham runs into Anna at the nightclub too. She gets completely drunk, hangs onto him and he has to cart her back to his hotel room since he can’t make head or tail of what anyone is saying!And here is where his entire idyllic trip goes spiralling out of control. Like a shot out of the blue, he is suddenly dragged out of his sleep brutally by the Russian police, angry words shouted at him and as they haul him away, he sees the lifeless body of Anna on the sofa.
A whirlwind of beatings, abuses, incoherent accusations and ultimately, the holding cell. Gautham catches glimpses of his life back in India, visiting his sister, the hilarious meeting with Shenba, their blossoming attraction…
And then, he finds a silver lining when Arthi Chinappa (Lakshmi Rai) is appointed by the court to defend his case and the Indian High Commission sends Jayaram to help him out.
Heart-in-your-mouth chases, near-death experiences, lots of running, conspiracy theories, superb action and unrequited love – all set against the gorgeous backdrop of beautiful Moscow. This is the rest of the movie and well worth every minute of watching.It is not a fabulous movie or one set to become a classic. There are lot of gaping holes, but perhaps some consideration should be made for the fact that this is a movie visualised by someone and completed by another. In any case, it doesn’t need to be a classic to be a good watch, which it is! It is fun, exciting, lovely to watch and leaves one with a pleasant feeling of 2.5 hours well-spent.
Ravi looks absolutely delicious. He has come a long way from the gangly young man in Jayam and the years suit him. His body is buff, his demeanour is carefree, fun-loving and all-male at the same time. In Dhaam Dhoom, Ravi’s job was to look good, act funny and suddenly, get up to his ears in some serious emoting as he tries to become an un-anchored young man in trouble in an alien nation. A job well done.
Kangna too has made nice work of being the bubbly, innocent and yet, very naughty and spoilt village brat who comes of age into womanhood when she falls in love with Ravi’s character. Her only flaws in this movie are that she may be way too skinny for the South Indian audiences who like some flesh and curves on their leading ladies; and the fact that her lip-sync needs a little working on.
Lakshmi Rai comes as an eye-opener. After movies where she has been little more than eye-candy and glam girl, her role of Arthi Chinappa has substance and she carries it off well. She is a good friend, confidante and an intelligent professional who comes to the rescue of a fellow Indian. Arthi falls in love with Gautham but keeps these affections suppressed when she learns of Shenba – this is a sensitive portrayal done well by Lakshmi.
All the others in the cast have their own spaces and since most of them are already established actors, it is needless to say they have done well.
Jeeva’s direction and camerawork is as always, cool, urban, refreshing and still universally appealing. Music by Harris Jayaraj is lovely, as are the visuals of every song. A treat for the eyes and ears.There is definitely a sense of some small missing pieces through the movie, but if you look at it on the whole, it is a pleasant watch and definitely something to remember the dear artist called Jeeva by. Anees Jeeva and the producers Sunanda Murli Manohar and Dr. Murli Manohar have done an admirable job of seeing this movie through to its fitting end, through all the tragedy and difficulties after Jeeva’s demise

The registration fee for the course is Rs.300/- (for SC/ST candidates-Rs. 150/-)

E. Eligibility
Candidates should have passed BA / B.Sc degree exams under the 10+2+3 pattern with one main subject and two subsidiary subjects from M G University or any other university recognized by M G University as equivalent thereto for admission, subject to the stipulation regarding marks.

However the eligibility of candidates who have passed degree examination in double/triple main, Model II vocational and other specialized subjects/streams will be governed by rules and regulations of this university.

In the case of candidates who have passed examinations of other Universities, they will be admitted only if these examinations have been declared equivalent to the qualifying examinations of this University.

The minimum requirement for admission to B.Ed course is 45% marks in Bachelor’s degree (Science/Arts subjects) in aggregate (ie, for Part I+II+III) provided he/she secures 45% marks
for Part III subjects.

Candidates seeking admission on the basis of the language under Part I & II need 50% marks for the part concerned and 50% for Post Graduate course in the same language. Candidates applying for the course under the language stream with a bachelor’s degree in the subject concerned will be ranked first in that particular stream. Candidates applying for the course under any language stream based on Part I / Part II at under graduate level and having PG Degree in the same subject as in Part I / Part II will be ranked only after that. Graduates in any subject for which optionals are not offered B.Ed course are eligible for admission to the subsidiary subjects taken at degree course if that subject is offered as an optional for B.Ed course, subject to the rules of admission. But such candidates will be considered only after the ranking of candidates with the concerned main subject.

For B.Ed in Commerce the eligibility is 45% marks for M.Com degree.

Home Science candidates seeking admission to B.Ed Degree course (are eligible for Natural Science option) should hold Post Graduate Degree in Home Science with not less than 50% mark. Also they should have studied Botany and Zoology (each, at least as a paper) at the degree level. Home Science candidates should be ranked only after ranking the B.Sc Zoology (main) Botany (main) candidates. Graduates in Petrochemicals (main) / Polymer Chemistry (main) / Bio-Chemistry (main) of M.G. University are eligible to apply for admission to B.Ed Degree course in Physical Science provided they have studied physics as a paper/optional subject at the Degree level. Graduates in Bio-Chemistry (main) are to be ranked only after ranking graduates in Chemistry (main).

Graduates in Statistics are eligible for admission to the B.Ed course with Mathematics as optional, subject to the rules of admission.

The following categories of candidates are eligible for admission to B.Ed (Information Technology).
• B.C.A / B.Sc (Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology) and
• M.C.A / M.Sc (Computer Science/Information Technology/I.T.C.C/B.Tech (Computer Science/I.T)
• M.Sc OR & CE / UGC sponsored Computer application graduates.
Concession:
SC/ST need only a pass. SEBC candidates will get a concession of 3% in aggregate marks .OEC candidates will be given 5% concession in aggregate marks. Candidates who are moderately Physically Handicapped and those who are blind are also eligible to apply. Selection will be based on merit and shall be guided by the rules of the University.

Weightage of Marks

• Candidates with teaching experience in approved schools/colleges in Kerala are eligible for a weightage of 0.1 marks for every month of approved service subject to a maximum of 5 marks, ignoring fraction thereof. Such candidates shall produce relevant certificate counter signed by DD/DEO/AEO respectively.
• Candidates who have a Post Graduate Degree in a concerned subject are eligible for weightage of marks as follows: M.A / M.Sc - I class: 5% marks, M.A / M.Sc - II class: 3% marks, M.A / M.Sc - III class: 2% marks. Weightage of 1% marks shall be given to the candidates who have represented the University / State / Nation in Sports and Games. Rounding of marks of 0.5 and above to the highest figure shall not be done while calculating the percentage of marks for minimum eligibility.
• Certain percentage of marks shall be given to the local candidates as locality weightage on production of proper locality certificate from the competent authority. The percentage of marks and the revenue area shall be decided by the University, and it vests all the rights in implementing and withdrawing the conditions regarding the local weightage.
• A weightage of 2% marks will be given for purpose of ranking candidates who belong to the revenue district in which the college is situated. In case, there is no college in the particular Revenue District under the jurisdiction of the University, the candidates will be eligible for such concessions in the University College of Teacher Education of the adjoining district. The candidates are not eligible for concession under this category.
• Five (5) marks will be given to the NCC/NSS certificate holders on production of relevant certificates issued from the College / University authorities during the B.A/B.Sc Degree course.
• Dependents of Ex-Servicemen / Service personnel / BSF (son/daughter/wife/husband) are eligible to get concessions as per Government rules.
• 5% Seats will be allocated to regular teachers of Government / Aided Schools / Higher Secondary Schools as per the eligibility prescribed by Govt.of Kerala and NCTE.
• 5 seats in each centre are reserved for NRI.
• Certain percentage of seats are reserved for candidates of Model II Degree Courses as per rules.
• B.Ed is available in following disciplines (Subjects are given in brackets)

F. Reservation
Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks will be granted based on the rules of the University. The existing percentage of reservation is : ET (Ezhava/Thiyya)-9%, M (Muslim)-8%,LC (Latin Catholic other than Anglo Indian)-2%, OBX (Other Backward Christians) (including SIUC and converts to Christianity from SC)-1%, OBH (Other Backward Hindus)-5%, SC-8%,ST-2%. Those who seek admission to the seats that fall under the reserved category shall produce the relevant certificate from the competent authority. In order to prove concession based on caste and financial status, the certificate should be from a revenue officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar or Village Officer.
G. Where to Apply
One form to each college. Candidates can apply for more than one optional in a college. Candidates can apply to more than one college. Separate applications addressed to the Principals in the address shown at ‘A’ shall be submitted.

H. Fees

1. Fees once remitted shall not be refunded at any circumstance. However those who discontinue after getting admission, but before the admission procedure is complete, shall be charged a service charge of 10 percentage of the tuition fees and the rest of the amount shall be returned.
2. Caution deposit will be returned on completion of the course (after adjusting liabilities if any).

I. Remittance of Fee

1. A sum of Rs. 300/- has to be paid as Registration Fee by all candidates (for SC/ST candidates – Rs.150/-) along with the filled in application form by way of an account payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Mahatma Gandhi University, payable at SBT, Mahatma Gandhi University Campus Branch.
2. Other fee as shown in the Fees structure has to be paid at the time of admission.
3. All fee mentioned in the Fees structure except Caution Deposit has to be paid to the Account No.67005165619 maintained in the SBT campus branch by way of SBT direct remittance pay in slip for this purpose. Remittance can be made in all branches of SBT. Caution deposit may be remitted to Account No.67005165620.

J. Fees Structure
Amount payable is given in Rupees (Except for dollars). For NRI quota the payment has to be made in dollars or equivalent amount in rupees.

SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the fees except Caution Deposit subject to the condition that they have not availed themselves of similar concession for similar payment.
K. General Instruction

1. The University reserves the right to make any changes in the rules and regulations laid down in the Prospectus
2. Original documents should be produced at the time of admission/Interview.
3. Last date to receive the filled in application forms in the University College of Teacher Education concerned will be 15th September 2008
4. Completed Applications Forms should reach the office concerned before the prescribed date.
5. Admission will be provisional till it is finalized by the University.
6. University will not be responsible for delay in communication or late receipt of Memo sent by the University.
7. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
8. Those who have qualified from Universities other than Mahatma Gandhi University or Boards shall produce Eligibility / Recognition Certificate from this University and Migration Certificate / NOC from the parent University / Board at the time of admission.

• Self attested copies of the marklists of the qualifying and other examinations.
• Self attested copies of the Pass Certificate/Certificates/Provisional or Degree Certificate of the qualifying examinations; relevant SSLC pages to prove age.

An 18-year-old Delhi University student was abducted and raped

An 18-year-old Delhi University student was abducted and raped allegedly by her neighbour in Outer Delhi, police said today. The victim, a BA first year student, was abducted by her neighbour 32-year-old Rakesh yesterday when she went outside her home in Alipur area in the district, they said. The accused, a transporter known to victim's family, took her to a secluded house in Noida and repeatedly raped her, police said. After committing the crime, the accused brought the victim to his driver Pawan's house in the area and locked her there, they said. The girl somehow managed to flee the place and immediately informed the police about the incident, they said, adding later she was taken to a Jagjeevan Ram hospital where medical examination confirmed the rape. A case was registered against the accused, who is absconding, and the investigations are on, they added.

"Candidates can exercise up to 200 options and change their options ten times. The final allotment letter can be downloaded from the websites www.eamcet.dte.gov.in or www.eamcet.apsche.ac.in from September 6," camp officer Raghunath Reddy said.

Candidates who have not taken the scratch cards in the first phase of counselling can obtain them from the nearest counselling center from August 26 onwards.

He also urged the students not to panic as the web-based counselling is not based on ‘first come; first serve’ policy.

Similarly, the final phase counselling that was earlier scheduled from September 2 - 24 has also been changed to September 8 - 30. So far 64,894 candidates have taken admission into engineering courses.

The Council has also allotted additional intake of 6,000 seats and gave permission to 24 engineering colleges making the final tally of colleges to 521. This means that there would be around 55,958 vacant seats for the final phase of counselling.

The counselling for admission into biotechnology and pharmacy courses under the BiPC stream would be held from September 1 - 6 (except on Sep 3). The classes would commence by the first week of October.

Patna University publishes 14 exam results in two days.

Patna University (PU) has created a record of sorts by publishing the examination results of as many as 14 professional courses in two days. The PU examination department is all set to publish the examination results of 12 more courses in the next two days. PU controller of examinations Surendra Snigdh told TOI the results of about 25 self-financing courses were published before the commencement of the employees' strike. The university is set to publish all the pending results of 2008 examinations by August 23. The results of BCom (Part I) honours examinations were published on Thursday while the BSc (Part I) results have already been published and those of BA (Part I) examinations are likely to be published within the next two to three days. Snigdh said 90% results of the 2008 examinations have been published by the university so far. The results of BSc engineering examinations have been published while those of LLB examination are in the process of being published. PU has decided to hold entrance test for admission to the BEdcourse on September 28. Application forms would be made available from August 20 at Patna Training College and Women's Training College. The pre-PhD registration test would be held after Durga Puja vacation, Snigdh added. PU has prepared the seniority list of teachers in all the subjects and four senior most teachers of each subject would be posted in the post-graduate department. This practice has been adopted to facilitate the process of rotational headship. Two more post-graduate departments of PU have got new heads under this scheme.
